Caring for your fresh flowers

Caring for fresh Rose's, keeping them looking good or Days.

Trim away any leaves which will be below the water line. If not removed these leaves would encourage microbial growth that will rot your flowers.

Fill a vase with lukewarm water and add a recommended floral preservative if available. Remove any water containers which may be on the rose stems. With a sharp knife or scissors make a slanting cut about 3 cms from the stem ends. Put the roses in the vase and place in a cool position away from direct sunlight, air vents, radiators and other heat sources; also avoid spots near ripening fruit.

Every 3 to 4 days follow the above steps. Should the rose heads droop re cut the stems, as above, and place in a container with about 4 cms of very hot water, leave 2 - 3 minutes, then transfer into a vase of lukewarm water.

If the water becomes murky or cloudy, replace it entirely. Remove any spent blooms or foliage.

Hand-tied bouquet

Do not remove the tying ribbon as the flowers come ready arranged and no further arranging is necessary. Re-cut stems, put flowers into a container of warm water and floral preservative, if available, and place in a cool position away from direct sunlight, air vents, radiators and other heat sources; also avoid spots near ripening fruit. If the water becomes murky or cloudy, replace it entirely. Remove any spent blooms or foliage.

Vox Box

Your flowers are delivered and arranged in a water-filled box and need no further arranging. Check water level daily and top up if necessary. If the water becomes murky or cloudy, replace it entirely. Remove any spent blooms or foliage.

Keep flowers in a cool location away from direct sunlight, air vents, radiators and other heat sources; also avoid spots near ripening fruit.

Bouquet and cut flowers

Fill a vase with lukewarm water and add floral preservative, if available. Remove flowers from wrapping and remove any foliage which will be under water. With a sharp knife or scissors make a slanting cut about 3 cms from the stem ends. Arrange flowers in the vase and place in a cool position away from direct sunlight, air vents, radiators and other heat sources; also avoid spots near ripening fruit. Every 3 to 4 days repeat the above steps. Should roses or chrysanthemums droop, re-cut the stems and place in very hot water for a few minutes before returning them to the vase. If the water becomes murky or cloudy, replace it entirely. Remove any spent blooms or foliage.

Flowers arranged in floral foam

Check water level in container and ensure the foam is damp. Check daily. Place arrangement in a cool position away from direct sunlight, air vents, radiators and other heat sources; also avoid spots near ripening fruit. Remove any spent blooms or foliage.

Flowers NZ Feedback

"I sent the flowers to my mother for Mother's Day and she rang me here in Italy to tell me they were beautiful. She was delighted. The service I received right from the moment I made the order was impeccable and as mentioned the flowers were fantastic. Thank you very much. I won't hesitate to use your service on further occasions."
